Justin Hart is an Associate Professor in the Department of History at Texas Tech University, where he also serves as a Senior Fellow at the Institute for Peace and Conflict. He holds a Ph.D. in History from Rutgers University and a B.A. (Magna Cum Laude) from Southern Methodist University. His research specializes in U.S. foreign relations, public diplomacy, and the cultural dimensions of international policy, with ongoing work on Truman's Universal Military Training campaign.
Hart's research explores the intersection of domestic affairs and U.S. foreign policy, particularly through lenses of propaganda, race, and democratic ideology. Key interests include Cold War strategies, military training history, and African-American historical contexts in international relations.
His publications focus on diplomatic history and propaganda, with recurring themes of cultural imperialism and policy transformation during pivotal 20th-century conflicts. Awarded works analyze how race and democratic ideals shaped U.S. global engagement.
