Justin B. Siegel

Justin B. Siegel is an Associate Professor at the University of California, Davis, affiliated with the Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry & Molecular Medicine. He serves as Faculty Director of the Innovation Institute for Food and Health, focusing on interdisciplinary research bridging computational and experimental approaches to enzyme catalysis and protein design.

His research interests lie in understanding enzyme mechanisms through computational modeling and experimental validation, with applications in creating novel proteins for biotechnological and biomedical purposes. This work integrates principles from biochemistry, molecular medicine, and synthetic biology.

Outside of academia, Dr. Siegel enjoys family life with his wife Juliet and three children: Josefina, Jocelyn, and Jonah.
