Julie Shulman

Julie Shulman, Ph.D. is a Professor and Chair at Sonoma State University, joining the faculty in 2008. She holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from The University of Memphis and is a licensed psychologist.

Dr. Shulman’s expertise spans feminist theory in counseling, women's sexuality, and lesbian/gay/bisexual mental health. Her teaching focuses on sexuality counseling, multicultural counseling, and practicum/internship supervision. She integrates qualitative and quantitative methodologies in her research.

Her professional experience includes roles in community mental health and college counseling settings, working with individuals, couples, and families. She has taught in Counseling, Counseling Psychology, and Clinical Psychology training programs.
