Julie Hart is a Professor and Department Head in the Department of Safety, Health and Industrial Hygiene at Montana Technological University, where she joined the faculty in 2000. She holds a B.S. in Occupational Safety and Health and an M.S. in Industrial Hygiene from Montana Tech, and a Ph.D. in Toxicology from The University of Montana. She is a Certified Industrial Hygienist with prior industry experience as a corporate health and safety auditor, senior safety advisor, and radiation safety officer.
Research Interests: Julie specializes in industrial hygiene, toxicology, and occupational risk assessment. Her work includes physical hazard analysis, industrial ventilation systems, noise pollution control, radiological safety, and health risk evaluations related to environmental contaminants like Libby amphiboles. Research projects encompass occupational exposure assessments and public health impact studies.

Teaching & Service: She instructs courses in Industrial Hygiene II, industrial ventilation, noise measurement, radiological health, and advanced industrial toxicology. Actively contributes to academic leadership as Department Head and maintains professional certifications.
