Dr. Julie Armoogum is a Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol), affiliated with the Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences (HAS) and the Department of Nursing and Midwifery. She holds qualifications including a PhD, MSc in Cancer Nursing, BSc (Hons), and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA). Her research focuses on improving cancer patient experiences, chronic pain management post-treatment, and cancer education. Collaborations include Macmillan Cancer Care, NHS England, and the BNSSG Integrated Care Board (ICB).
Key projects include a BNSSG ICB-funded Launching Fellowship (2024) to implement clinical recommendations from her PhD on chronic pain post-cancer, and Health Education England-funded initiatives to develop e-learning modules for pre-registration cancer professionals (2022). She leads the PG Cert in Cancer Care program and co-chairs the pre-registration workstream for the ACCEND Programme. Her work contributed to a UWE VC Staff Changemaker Award (2024) and the NHS Learning Hub’s 'Foundations of Cancer Care' e-learning platform (2023).
