Julia Shirar

Julia Shirar serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Conservatory of Music within Brooklyn College's School of Visual, Media and Performing Arts, based in Whitehead Hall with contact phone 718.951.5286.

Her primary discipline centers on Media Scoring and sound design for cinematic works, with notable contributions to Sofia Coppola's filmography including The Beguiled, Lost in Translation, and Virgin Suicides, alongside Spike Jonze's Adaptation and Kelly Reichardt's Night Moves. Shirar extends her expertise to interdisciplinary art installations exhibited globally at institutions like Tate Modern and National Veteran’s Art Museum.
