Dr. Julia Scott-Stevenson is a Chancellor's Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Technology Sydney, affiliated with the Faculty of Design and Society and the Climate, Society and Environment Research Centre (C-SERC). Her practice-led research explores how immersive media (VR, AR, MR) can address the climate crisis by enabling audiences to co-create just climate futures through generative AI and participatory design.

- Creative Producer of Privy To (2021), an XR project on privacy rights exhibited at CPH:DOX's Inter:Active
- Chair of the International Advisory Board for Immersive Arts (UK-wide £6M program for immersive artists)
- Advisory Board member at Frame Documentary (Australia's first org for tech-driven nonfiction artists)
Her work intersects XR/VR/AR, climate futures, and digital rights. Current funded projects include Envisaging and enacting just climate futures through immersive media (2022–2027) and public awareness initiatives on data broking. She teaches and mentors in immersive media at UTS, UWE Bristol, AFTRS, and the BBC.
