Judith Mansilla is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of History at Florida International University, where she serves as the faculty advisor. She assists students with course selection for history majors/minors, career guidance, internships, and graduate school preparation.
Her research integrates environmental, political, social, economic, and legal history approaches within Colonial Latin America, the Andean region, and the Atlantic World. She is currently completing a book manuscript titled "Firm Foundations: Rebuilding the Early Modern State in Lima, Peru After the Earthquake of 1687," analyzing Lima's political and material reconstruction after the 1687 earthquake, and developing new research on crime and corruption in early modern Latin America.
