Judith Favereau is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Lyon 2, affiliated with the Triangle Laboratory (UMR 5206). She holds a PhD in economics from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (2014) and has held postdoctoral positions at the Hoover Chair (Catholic University of Louvain), the Helsinki Center of Excellence in the Philosophy of Social Sciences (TINT), and the University of Helsinki. Her research focuses on economic philosophy, experimental economics, evidence-based policy, and the history of economic thought.
Her key works include analyses of randomized field experiments in development economics, the methodology of Herbert Simon, and the epistemological shifts in Amartya Sen's development theory. She has published in journals like *History of Economic Ideas*, *Journal of Economic Methodology*, and *Revue de Philosophie Économique*. Her book *Le hasard et la preuve* (2021) critiques experimental approaches in development economics.
Favereau has received grants such as the Honorific Grant from the Hoover Chair (2016) and the Samuels Young Scholars Program (2011).
