Judith Cherni

Dr. Judith Cherni is an Advanced Research Fellow and Part-Time Lecturer at the Centre for Environmental Policy, part of the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Imperial College London. Her work bridges environmental engineering, energy policy, and development economics, with a focus on sustainable transitions in developing regions.

• PhD, MA, BA from the London School of Economics and Political Science
• Expert in multidisciplinary studies integrating environment, technology, and policy

Her research spans energy modeling for clean development, renewable energy technology, climate change mitigation, and health impacts of agribusiness, particularly in Latin America, China, Asia, and Africa. She has led international projects on energy access in off-grid areas, climate change communication, and waste transformation via dry-fermentation.

Scientific awards include multiple Imperial College President’s Recognitions (2019, 2016, 2015), a best paper award at the EVER conference (2019), and a First Prize from the Cuban Academy of Sciences (2018-19).
