Juan Garrido

Juan Garrido is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Art Center College of Design, specializing in illustration and background painting. He has over a decade of experience in TV animation, serving as a background supervisor for the Mickey Shorts Series at Disney Television Animation and collaborating with major clients like Warner Brothers, Nickelodeon, and Rick and Morty LCC.

• Education: BFA in Illustration from Art Center College of Design (2010)

Garrido’s research and professional work focus on color theory, lighting design, and background painting for television animation. He also practices plein air painting, drawing inspiration from nature and outdoor environments.

His recent projects (2014–2025) include background supervision for Disney’s Big City Greens the Movie: Spacecation (2025) and Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse S2 (2024), alongside a portfolio of landscape and architectural illustrations.
