Joyce Deans is the Head of Acting at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS), with a career spanning acting, teaching, and directing. She trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (now RCS) and the Ecole Jacques Lecoq in Paris. Her work integrates Lecoq movement techniques with Nadine George voice work, co-authored with Professor Ros Steen.

Her research interests focus on performance pedagogy, movement and voice integration in acting, and classical/modern theatre direction. Her career includes international collaborations in France, Poland, Germany, and Russia.
Lab/Team Affiliations: Collaborates with the RCS Centre for Voice in Performance and the Ecole Jacques Lecoq scenography department.
