Joshua Miller

Joshua Miller is an Associate Professor of English at the University of Virginia. His research focuses on 20th and 21st Century US Literature, Multilingualism, Visual Culture, and Jewish Studies. He holds a Ph.D. (2001) and M.Phil. (1997) from Columbia University, and an A.B. (1994) from the University of Chicago.

His scholarly work examines multilingual narratives, diasporic identities, and intersections of literature with visual media. Recent publications include the edited volume Cambridge Companion to 21st Century American Fiction (2021) and articles on migrancy modernism, speculative fiction, and postcolonial literature.

Current projects analyze linguistic hybridity in transnational works, with emphasis on Jewish diaspora and Asian-American narratives. His research engages with interdisciplinary methodologies and critical theory.
