Joshua L. Miller

Joshua L. Miller is an Associate Professor of English at the University of Virginia. His scholarly work bridges 20th and 21st-century U.S. literature with visual culture, focusing on migrant and multilingual literatures and their intersections with historical and contemporary photography.

His research interests include:

• Experimental modernist and contemporary novels
• Language politics and theory
• Immigration and refugee narratives
• Race and ethnicity in literary and visual media
• Intermedial narratives linking photography and literature
