Dr Joshua Casan is an Adjunct Lecturer in Medicine at Monash University (appointed 2018) and serves as a dual-qualified clinical haematologist and haematopathologist. He is based at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Royal Melbourne Hospital, with roles in the Aggressive Lymphoma Service and as a visiting consultant at Monash Health. His research focuses on RNA-targeting therapeutics for blood cancers and clinical trials of novel therapies in haematological malignancies. He is concurrently a PhD candidate in the Trapani Cancer Immunology and Johnstone Gene Regulation Laboratories.
Education: MBBS (Hons) and BMedSci (Hons) from Monash University (2010), with advanced training certifications FRACP (Clinical Haematology) and FRCPA (Haematopathology).
Research interests include lymphoma genomics, malignant haematology, and acute leukaemia. Notable contributions include CRISPR-Cas13-based RNA silencing innovations and clinical trials in haemostasis (e.g., TREATT trial).
