Josh K. Wright

Dr. Joshua K. Wright is Associate Professor of History in Trinity Washington University's Global Studies Department, teaching courses in American History, Black Studies, International Affairs, and Political Science. He holds a Ph.D. and is the author of scholarly works including Wake Up, Mr. West: Kanye West and the Double Consciousness of Black Celebrity (2021) and Empire and Black Images in Popular Culture (2018).

As host of the NPR podcast "Woke History," he examines historical narratives through contemporary cultural lenses. His interdisciplinary research bridges historical analysis with critical race theory and popular culture studies.
