Joshua Wright

Dr. Joshua Wright is Associate Professor of Global Affairs at Trinity Washington University, with scholarly expertise in civil rights history, hip hop culture, and African American studies. His research examines representations of Black identity in media, sports, and political movements.

Wright's publications analyze topics ranging from mental health in hip hop lyrics to empowerment narratives in Blaxploitation films. He has received recognition including an AHA Member Spotlight and NEH Summer Institute Award. Courses taught include Civil Rights Movement in the Twentieth Century, Women & the Law, and Politics & The Media.
