Joseph Scott

Dr. Joseph Scott is a Senior Lecturer in Curriculum and Pedagogy at the University of the Sunshine Coast, leading Secondary Health and Physical Education (HPE) initiatives. A registered teacher with the Queensland College of Teachers and Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy, he is nationally recognized for advancing HPE pedagogy and teacher education.

His research focuses on multifaceted health promotion for youth, particularly through:

• Skin cancer prevention via teacher education
• Physical literacy development in schools
• Measurement of physical activity, sleep, and sedentary behavior
• Alcohol and drug harm minimization strategies
• Curriculum innovation in HPE

Recent publications examine STEM policy gaps, digital parenting challenges, and post-pandemic health recovery frameworks. His work integrates cross-disciplinary collaborations and digital health technologies to improve adolescent health outcomes.
