Joseph Mikhael, M.D., is a Professor in the Clinical Genomics and Therapeutics Division at the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen), part of City of Hope. He concurrently serves as Chief Medical Officer of the International Myeloma Foundation (IMF) and Director of Myeloma Research at the HonorHealth Research Institute, where he leads phase 1 clinical trials. Previously, he held key roles at Mayo Clinic Arizona, including Professor, Associate Dean of Graduate Medical Education, and Deputy Director for Education at the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center.
Education
Dr. Mikhael completed his medical training in Ottawa, Canada, followed by a Hematology Residency at Princess Margaret Hospital (Toronto). He subsequently pursued a Multiple Myeloma Fellowship and a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Toronto.

His clinical expertise centers on plasma cell disorders—multiple myeloma, amyloidosis, and Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia. He leads numerous clinical trials and explores pharmaco-economics, medical communication, and global health equity.
