Joseph L. Nedelec is an Associate Professor and Director of both the on-campus and online MS programs in the School of Criminal Justice at the University of Cincinnati. He holds undergraduate degrees in Criminology and Psychology, a Master's in Criminology from Simon Fraser University, and a PhD in Criminology from Florida State University.
His research encompasses lifecourse/developmental criminology, biopsychosocial criminology, corrections, terrorism, and cybercrime. He employs advanced quantitative methodologies to examine genetic and environmental influences on criminal behavior, victimization patterns, and developmental trajectories across the life course.
Dr. Nedelec's publication record shows strong emphasis on evolutionary criminology, behavioral genetics, and methodological innovation. Recent work demonstrates increasing focus on gene-environment interactions, cybercrime victimization, and critiques of statistical approaches in developmental research.
He teaches courses in cybercrime, life-course criminology, research methods, statistics, and terrorism/homeland security. As program director, he oversees graduate curriculum development and online education initiatives.
