Joseph Bridgewater is a Senior Lecturer in Primary Initial Teacher Training & Education at Newman University’s Faculty of Education. He previously served as a Visiting Lecturer for two years before transitioning to his current role. His expertise spans teacher education, transpersonal psychology, and emotional intelligence. Joseph holds a BA in Primary Initial Teacher Education (PITE) with an English specialization, an MA in Education, and is currently pursuing a PG Certificate in Higher Education and a PhD at Newman University.
His PhD research focuses on the effects of transpersonal practices—such as meditation—on human psyche development, integrating his interests in psychology, self-development, and well-being. With over a decade of teaching experience in primary and secondary schools across the UK and internationally, Joseph contributes both academically and practically to educational practices.
