Joseph Bird

Dr. Joseph Bird is a Senior Lecturer in Biology of Disease at Anglia Ruskin University's School of Life Sciences. A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, he holds a PhD in Physiology from the University of Cambridge and has extensive research experience in cell biology, biochemistry, and imaging. His research focuses on inflammation in cardiovascular disease, skeletal disorders, and ageing mechanisms.

He currently supervises a PhD project on bone cell metabolism and has secured research funding from The Barbara Price Charitable Trust and The Edith Florence Spencer Memorial Trust. Bird serves as a reviewer for multiple journals including Annals of Rheumatic Diseases and Rheumatology, and for research councils including the Medical Research Council.

Teaching: Module Leader for Principles of Pathology and Specialist Topics in Biomedical Science.
