Jose Alejandro Rauh-Hain is an Associate Professor in the Department of Gynecologic Oncology and Reproductive Medicine (Division of Surgery) and holds a dual appointment as Associate Professor in the Department of Health Services Research (Division of OVP, Cancer Prevention and Population Sciences) at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. He specializes in surgical treatment of gynecologic malignancies and management of rare gynecologic tumors. His research focuses on addressing disparities in gynecological cancer care and improving outcomes for young women with cancer through real-world clinical studies.
Dr. Rauh-Hain’s education includes a medical degree from Universidad Panamericana School of Medicine (Mexico City) and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the Harvard School of Public Health. He completed residencies at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Harvard Medical School), followed by a gynecologic oncology fellowship at MGH. He also held a postdoctoral fellowship in Cancer Outcomes Research at Harvard before joining MD Anderson in 2024. His career includes prior faculty roles at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.
His clinical interests emphasize surgical oncology and translational research aimed at reducing health inequities in cancer care. He actively contributes to population-level research to enhance preventive strategies and treatment accessibility for underserved patient groups.
