Jono Sturt

Jono Bentley Sturt is a Lecturer in Architecture at the University of Michigan’s Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning. He teaches across pre-architecture, undergraduate, and graduate levels, focusing on architectural design, representation, and courses for non-majors. Sturt is also co-founder of Section Cut in San Francisco, founder of design studio HTCHBCK, and collaborates with Archolab, an award-winning architectural research group.

His research interests emphasize architectural design addressing infrastructural inequities, sustainability, and justice, as evidenced by his involvement in Taubman College’s Catalyst Grant projects and the Climate Futures Exhibition (2024). Sturt integrates participatory methods and digital tools into his pedagogy and practice.
