Jonathan Dunbar

Jonathan Dunbar is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at St. Norbert College, located in De Pere, Wisconsin. He holds a B.A. and M.A. from East Carolina University and a Ph.D. from North Carolina State University. His research focuses on abstract algebraic structures, particularly non-associative algebras like Lie and Leibniz algebras, and the application of mathematics to societal issues such as voting systems and redistricting. He actively involves undergraduates in his research projects.
He advises the SNC Math Club and Sigma Nu Delta, and maintains memberships in organizations including Pi Mu Epsilon, the Mathematical Association of America, the National Association of Mathematicians, and the NAACP.

Teaching responsibilities span undergraduate mathematics courses, with a focus on courses emphasizing social justice applications such as MATH 123 (Applications of Contemporary Mathematics).
