About
Jonathan Dannatt, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Dallas, part of the College of Liberal Arts. He received his undergraduate training in chemistry and mathematics at Lyon College, a liberal arts institution in the Ozarks, and earned his doctorate at Michigan State University in July 2019. His graduate research under Professor Robert Maleczka focused on iridium-based C–H activation borylation catalysts and silsesquioxane synthesis.
- Education:
- BS in Chemistry and Mathematics, Lyon College
- PhD in Organic Chemistry, Michigan State University
Dannatt specializes in organic chemistry, with particular emphasis on catalytic systems for C–H activation and hybrid organic-inorganic materials. His work contributes to polymer property enhancement through silsesquioxane synthesis.
- Scientific Awards:
- NSF REU fellowship at Georgetown University
At the University of Dallas, he teaches organic chemistry sequences and aims to provide transformative undergraduate research opportunities in organic chemistry, mirroring the experiences that shaped his own academic trajectory.
