Jonathan Fritz

Jonathan Fritz, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in Chemistry at Aquinas College. His research focuses on ligand design in organometallic chemistry to improve catalytic selectivity for applications in solar energy harvesting and chemical synthesis.

• Education: Ph.D. and M.S. in Chemistry from the University of Michigan; B.A. in Chemistry from Carleton College

His work investigates structure-activity relationships of ligands in C-H functionalization and regioselective arylation reactions, aiming to enhance efficiency in synthetic chemistry. Recent publications highlight palladium and iridium-catalyzed processes for heterocyclic synthesis and solar energy technologies.

Dr. Fritz is a member of the American Chemical Society and has presented at conferences such as Boron in the Americas XII and the National Organic Symposium.
