Jonathan C. Roberts

Professor Jonathan C. Roberts is a faculty member in the School of Computer Science at Bangor University, UK, serving as Professor in Visualisation and Director of Impact and Engagement. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Kent (1992–1996) and a BSc in Computer Science from the same institution (1989–1992). He has been a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy since 2015.

His research focuses on data visualization, visual analytics, human-computer interaction, and computing pedagogy, with applications in cultural heritage, oceanography, and social networks. He leads the Visualization, Data-Modelling, and Graphics (VDMG) research group and has organized major events like the Eurographics 2011 conference. He has supervised 7 completed PhD students and 5 MSc-R students, with 3 current PhD students under his guidance.
