Jonas Klein

Dr. Jonas Klein is a researcher at the Historical Institute of the University of Potsdam since 2021, focusing on medieval and modern history. He is also a lecturer at the Institute of History, University of Bonn, since 2018. Klein’s academic journey includes a doctorate at the University of Bonn (2017–2022) continued at Potsdam, with a dissertation on Hans Delbrück and the Preußischen Jahrbücher (1883–1919).

Research Interests span historical cultures, international history, media history, military history, political ideas, and the history of sexuality and science. His work explores the reception of classical antiquity in modern political systems, academic-political intersections, and the social foundations of parliamentary representation.

Publications include the 2023 monograph Der Prophet des Staatsgedankens on Hans Delbrück, co-edited volumes on international history, and articles in journals like Zeitschrift für Geschichtswissenschaft and H-Soz-Kult. His projects analyze German development policy since 1961 and Hans Delbrück’s correspondence.

Memberships include the German Historians’ Association (VHD), Military History Working Group, International History Working Group, and associations for the promotion of ancient and modern history at the University of Bonn.
