About
Jon Doering is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Sciences at Louisiana State University. He holds a B.S. in Biology from the University of Saskatchewan (2008) and a Ph.D. in Toxicology from the same institution (2016). His research focuses on characterizing species-specific sensitivity to chemicals, identifying toxicological mechanisms, and developing ecological risk assessment frameworks for native species using in silico, in vitro, and in vivo approaches combined with toxicogenomics.
Dr. Doering teaches ENVS 1126 (Introduction to Environmental Sciences) and ENVS 7110 (Toxicology of the Aquatic Environment). His research program examines toxicological responses across fish, amphibians, reptiles, and birds, with emphasis on receptor-mediated toxicity, endocrine disruption, and transgenerational effects of environmental contaminants.
