Drew Crain is Professor of Biology at Maryville College, teaching courses including Animal Physiology, Developmental Biology, and Science & Christianity. He mentors extensive undergraduate research through the Senior Study program.
Research examines endocrine disruption in aquatic species, particularly effects of environmental toxicants on growth, reproduction, and metamorphosis in fish and amphibians. Recent publications also address science-faith integration in education.
His laboratory investigates contaminants like glyphosate, carbamazepine, and diclofenac using Xenopus laevis and other model organisms. Student projects frequently involve histological analysis of toxicant impacts.
