John Wilson is an Instructor in-Residence and Academic Director of the MS in Financial Technology (FinTech) program at the University of Connecticut (UConn) School of Business. He specializes in teaching graduate courses such as Visual Analytics, Advanced Project Management (Capstone), and Global Technology Management. Wilson holds a BA in Political Science from Central Connecticut State University and an MS in Business Analytics/Project Management from UConn.
His research and professional interests focus on data analytics, dashboarding, and academic-industry collaboration. He has received multiple teaching awards, including the 2019 Excellence in Graduate Teaching Award and the 2024 Innovation in Teaching Award. Wilson is also a Fellow of the Life Management Institute (FLMI) and holds AIRC and ACS industry certifications.
Previously, he directed UConn’s Center for the Advancement of Business Analytics. Beyond academia, he consults as a data scientist for LIMRA and presents globally on topics like predictive modeling and process optimization.
