John Wilkinson

John Wilkinson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at North Dakota State University. His research focuses on the biochemical mechanisms underlying cancer progression, particularly the roles of apoptosis-inducing factor (AIF) and phosphoglycerate mutase family member 5 (PGAM5) in cellular metabolism and cell death regulation.

Research Areas: Dr. Wilkinson’s work bridges molecular biology, biochemistry, and tumor biology, investigating how dysregulated mitochondrial energy production and antioxidant defenses contribute to cancer pathogenesis. His lab employs interdisciplinary techniques to explore these mechanisms.
