John Super

John Super is an academic at the University of Central Florida, affiliated with the College of Community Innovation and Education and the Department of Counselor Education and School Psychology. He coordinates the Community Counseling and Research Center.

His research focuses on:

• Religious abuse of LGBT individuals
• Counselor self-efficacy in training
• Community trauma after violent events

He specializes in counseling theory, family practice, human sexuality in mental health, and grief/relational distress. He is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and National Certified Counselor (NCC), serving on the American Counseling Association's Human Rights and Awards Committee.
