John Robson

John Robson is a Senior Lecturer in Design and Technology Education at Sheffield Hallam University, affiliated with the College of Social Sciences and Arts and the Department of Teacher Education. He joined in 2002 after 24 years of teaching in secondary schools, including roles as Head of Faculty of Design and Post-16 tutor. Robson's research interests include pedagogical studies in Design and Technology, design communication, visual literacy, action-based research, and sustainable design education.

His publications focus on design education methodologies, notably contributing to the book Learning to Teach Design and Technology in the Secondary School. Robson actively collaborates with schools for student placements and mentor training, and serves as an External Examiner at Northumbria University and the University of Limerick.
