John Landers

John Landers is Professor of Neurology at UMass Chan Medical School, where he directs ALS genetics research. His laboratory uses high-throughput genomics to identify genes associated with familial and sporadic amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), including the discovery of KIFAP3 as a survival modifier.

Dr. Landers' work bridges basic science and clinical applications, developing diagnostic approaches and investigating disease mechanisms. He previously served as Chief Scientific Officer at PolyGenyx and holds appointments in multiple graduate programs.
