John Gordon

John Gordon is a Professor of Language Arts and Learning at the University of East Anglia’s School of Education & Lifelong Learning, where he serves as Academic Chair for CreativeUEA. He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and UEA Teaching Fellow, with expertise in language, literacy, and teacher agency.

• Current research includes the ESRC-funded project Enhancing Teacher Agency with Technology
• Focus on AI in information literacy and interdisciplinary community heritage studies
• Co-convenor of the English in Education special interest group for BERA
• Editorial board member for L1: Education Studies in Language and Literature

His work spans narrative research methods, discourse analysis, and oracy in education. He has secured grants from the British Academy, Department for Education, and Heritage Fund, and collaborates with organizations including the British Library, BBC, and Norwich City Football Club.
