John Baynard is a Master Lecturer in the Department of Journalism at Boston University's College of Communication. A documentary filmmaker and photojournalist, his work focuses on social issues with particular emphasis on homelessness and refugees. With over 40 years of experience, he has produced documentaries for PBS Frontline, ABC News Nightline, and other major networks.
His research interests center on visual storytelling techniques in journalism and the ethical representation of marginalized communities. Baynard has received numerous awards including two Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Awards and 22 New England Emmy Awards.
