PD Dr. Johannes Thon is a Lecturer in Old Testament Studies at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg's Faculty of Theology. He holds a PhD (2005) and Habilitation (2020), and serves as Pastor in the Hohenthurm parish. His research focuses on biblical hermeneutics, language studies in religious contexts, and interfaith dialogue. He contributed to the DFG-funded 'Language Conceptions' project (2009–2014).
