Joe Stadolnik is a Collegiate Assistant Professor in the Humanities Collegiate Division and a Junior Fellow at the Society of Fellows in the Liberal Arts at the University of Chicago. He received his Ph.D. from Yale University (2017) and a BA from the University of Rochester (2008), and has taught at UChicago since 2018.
Research Interests: His work focuses on medieval English literature, situated at the intersection of Literary History, History of Science, and History of the Book. He explores material contexts of medieval texts, particularly alchemical literature, multilingualism, and the interplay between natural philosophy and literary practice.

Publications: His scholarship includes analyses of Henry Daniel’s medical texts, Chaucer’s Treatise on the Astrolabe, and cross-cultural manuscript studies. He co-edits a new critical edition of Chaucer’s astrolabe treatise.
