Joe Greer

Joe Greer is a Lecturer in the Music Department at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, teaching Applied Trombone Lessons at 200 and 300 levels. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and maintains an active role in regional music institutions.

His educational background includes:

• Bachelor of Music Education from Central Michigan University (2010)
• Master of Music from University of Wisconsin-Madison (2012)
• Doctor of Musical Arts from University of Wisconsin-Madison (2015)

Specializing in brass performance, Dr. Greer focuses on trombone, euphonium, and tuba instruction. His professional work extends beyond teaching through significant contributions to orchestral and youth music programs.

He served as principal trombonist for the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra from 2015-2024 and currently works as Music Librarian and Operations Assistant for the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras in Madison.

Dr. Greer resides in Milton, WI, and enjoys time with his family and dog outside his professional commitments.
