Joanne Perkins

Joanne Perkins is a Lecturer in Osteopathy at Swansea University since 2017, serving as Admissions Lead and Module Leader for Autonomous Osteopathic Practice. She teaches modules including SHF304, SHF307, SHFM03, and SHFM04, focusing on advanced clinical skills and professional development. Previously, she worked as a Clinic Tutor at Swansea University (2013–2017) and has maintained a private osteopathy practice in Cardiff since 1988. She also teaches at Cardiff Metropolitan University and Teach Therapy.

Her qualifications include a Diploma in Osteopathy (1988), PGCE (2004), and a Postgraduate Certificate in Paediatrics (2018). Research interests center on Paediatrics and care for Expectant Mothers. Professionally, she serves as Secretary of the South Wales Osteopathic Society, organizing CPD events. Beyond academia, she volunteers in community activities, teaches Sunday school, and learns Welsh.
