Professor Joan Vogel specializes in employment law, anthropology of law, consumer law, medical malpractice, and tort reform at Vermont Law and Graduate School. She teaches courses including Commercial Law, Employment Discrimination Law, Law and Anthropology, and Torts.

Before joining VLS in 1989, she served as assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, associate visiting professor at Albany Law School, and associate professor at Oklahoma City University Law School. She has testified before the Vermont Senate Judiciary Committee and helped draft Vermont's employment law bill and tobacco reimbursement statute.
