Prof. Joachim Rieke is a Professor of Piano and Didactics at the Institute of Music (IfM) at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. He teaches piano performance and music pedagogy, with a focus on 20th-century music. Born in Georgsmarienhütte, he studied Music Pedagogy at the University of Bremen, advanced piano studies at Hannover’s University of Music and Theatre, and specialized in New Music at the Amsterdam Conservatory. His career includes performances with chamber ensembles, radio productions (e.g., Hessischer Rundfunk), and participation in festivals like the Darmstadt International Summer Courses for New Music. From 1987–1989, he was part of Ensemble FA, performing in Bremen and Paris. He has held teaching roles at multiple institutions, including the University of Bremen and Hannover’s University of Music and Theatre. Since 1994, he has directed his private music school, 'Freie Musikschule "SpielArt"' in Bremen. His jury service includes regional and national competitions like "Jugend musiziert." He has been a professor at Osnabrück since 2000.
