Joachim Renn is a full professor (W3) of Sociology at the University of Münster, specializing in theoretical sociology with a focus on social cohesion. His academic career includes positions at the Universities of Bonn, Erfurt, Erlangen, and Heidelberg, as well as research fellowships at the WZB Berlin, Konstanz University, and the Kulturwissenschaftliches Institut Essen.

Key projects include evaluating urban management strategies in Münster and analyzing translation processes in local refugee integration policies.
