Joachim Mathiesen

Joachim Mathiesen is a Professor at the NJORD Center for the Study of Earth Physics within the Department of Physics, University of Oslo. His research spans geophysics, porous media dynamics, and nonlinear fluid systems. Key collaborations include Gaute Linga, Francois Renard, and Tanguy Le Borgne.

His work focuses on fracture network analysis, turbulent flow in rough channels, and electrohydrodynamic phenomena. He investigates fluid-rock interactions, solute dispersion in multiphase systems, and stress-driven phase transformations.
