Jo Bacon

Dr Jo Bacon serves as Associate Dean for Partnerships, Enterprise & Recruitment at the University of Chester's Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. Her academic career includes roles as Head of Department (2007–2016) and Head of Professional Development (Schools).

Research Interests: Ethnography and socio-political-economic contexts of education, with a focus on children in care. Her work examines child voice in care planning and systemic educational inequities. Active in the Culture and Society Research Institute and Health and Wellbeing Research Institute.

Teaching & Supervision: Specializes in educational leadership, critical practice, and doctoral program methodologies. Supervised a Doctor of Education program (2021–2024).
