Jiwoon Yulee is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Women's and Gender Studies at Syracuse University, within the College of Arts & Sciences. Her work bridges radical social reproduction theory, transnational feminist solidarity, and intersectional justice. She focuses on labor precarity in South Korea, including the struggles of elderly women janitors and precarious workers.
Dr. Yulee holds a Ph.D. in Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies from the University of Washington (2018). Her research explores neoliberal temporalities, financialization, and racial capitalism. She co-leads the Feminist Pedagogy Collective and has been recognized with the National Women’s Studies Association First Book Prize (2020) for her manuscript Expressive Struggles.
Her recent publications analyze labor movements in South Korea, financialization’s impact on social reproduction, and global solidarity efforts. Teaching includes courses on feminist theory, intersectional movements, and border studies. She actively reviews for journals like City, Feminist Studies, and Korea Journal.
