Jiwoon Yu-Lee is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Women's and Gender Studies at Syracuse University. She holds a Ph.D. in Feminist Studies from the University of Washington (2018), a Certificate in Feminist Activism from Sungkonghoe University (2009), an M.A. in Women and Gender Studies from Rutgers State University of New Jersey (2004), and a B.A. in English from Kongju National University (2001).
Her research explores neoliberalism, temporality, and social reproduction of feminized labor in South Korea, with interdisciplinary focus areas including labor activism, political economy, ethnography, and transnational feminist theory. Her dissertation, Expressive Struggles: Neoliberal Temporalities and Social Reproduction of Feminized Labor in South Korea, critically examines these intersections.
