Jing Lei

Jing Lei is a Professor and Advisement Coordinator in the Anthropology Department at SUNY Oswego. She holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology from SUNY Albany (2007) and a B.A. in English from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (2000). Her research focuses on sociolinguistics, language socialization, and Chinese linguistics, with a practice-oriented approach to bilingualism in global contexts. Recent work examines linguistic commodification in China, exploring the marketing and consumption of English language education.
